PhD Project Opportunities

The Co-Centre for Sustainable Food Systems encompasses a research programme of oriented basic and applied research in the areas of science, technology, engineering, and social sciences across the Republic of Ireland (ROI), Northern Ireland (NI) and Great Britain (GB).

Using a food systems approach, the Co-Centre for Sustainable Food Systems will undertake a research programme across four Platforms - Sustainable Food, Food Safety and Integrity, Nutrition and Health, and Food Systems Data Modelling - conducting translational research spanning food production to public health. It will develop innovative techniques using interdisciplinary approaches to provide end-to-end solutions from soil to society, which will be realised and showcased in demonstrator projects addressing specific societal and industry challenges.

We are seeking applications for PhDs in research topics across the Food System in several of the Co-Centres partners. PhD will be 4 years in duration. PhD students within the Co-Centre will engage in broad Food Systems training alongside specific research areas outlined below.
